Houses…in Gingerbread and in Wood

This Christmas was a fun time to spend with friends and family. Starting off the Christmas festivities was three different gingerbread house making parties: one with friends, one with Bible study, and one with work. Then after that was some great times with both of our families.

Speaking of houses our home is almost done, we will get the keys on February 1st, but until then, take a look at the latest pictures.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and is looking forward to the new year!!

Anniversary & New Home

Last weekend was our 1st anniversary. We got to relax and just enjoy spending time together. It was a great time to reflect and reminisce about the past year and the wedding. We had a great time looking at all of the photos again and remembering how much fun we had with everyone being there to celebrate. Thank you everyone for making it such a wonderful day.

On other news, we’ve started the home buying process and are purchasing a new home which should be complete on January 31st, 2008. It is a really nice town-home with 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths in a really cute community at the south end of Atascadero (for those of you not on the Central Coast, that is only about 15 minutes north of San Luis Obispo). It has a really big back yard that overlooks a dry creek, and a two car garage. We’re really excited and are looking forward to when we can move in! Photos of the model home (backyard is much smaller than what ours will be).

Weddings And Houses

Joe and I have been having quite the busy summer so far. We’ve been to two weddings: Daryl and Christina and Curtis and Lyndsay which were very enjoyable. We’ve also had the opportunity to serve a bunch at church, and Joe started to play bass guitar with the worship team every other Saturday (which he has been enjoying very much). The weekend after the 4th of July we took off a few days and went to see the Olsen clan (Mark, Vivian, Craig, and Matt) and just spent some days relaxing (and getting to see Ratatouille).

Our other pass-time that has been keeping us busy is that we are looking to buy a house on the central coast. It’s been a very eye-opening experience and we are learning a lot. We’re excited to see how God leads and provides. We’ll keep you posted when we start to get further down the path, but we’ve found an area that we like, so now it’s just a waiting game.

I’m not sure if anyone reads this or not, but if you do, thanks for being a part of our lives! :D

What’s New

Joe and I have had much going on since we first shared our nuptials. We adopted a fun cat named Bear (pictures in the gallery), Kristen graduated from college and became a full-time employee at Web Associates, went with Kristen’s family to Disneyland, moved for the first time together to a nicer place closer to downtown SLO (pictures in the gallery), celebrated both of our birthdays, and enjoyed going to numerous parties and showers for our friends (we have friends getting married and others having babies).

Spring seems to be fast-forwarding into summer now, so we will be attending numerous weddings and posting the photos here, so stay tuned!

Wedding Photos Are Up!

Joe and I have finally finished going through the 1200 photos from our wonderful photographer Janelle. There are some really wonderful ones, and it’s so great to see how much fun everyone was having.

If you want to get a print of any of the photos, click on the link near the photo that says “Add Photo to Cart”, and then once you are done adding all of the pictures, click on the shopping cart icon on the left. From there you can select to download as a zip file to print on your printer, or choose one of the two online printing companies to get nice prints sent to your door.

We hope that these photos bring back fond memories for you just as it did for us.

Mountain Trek & Fine Dining

Friday morning began with a nice breakfast and a bit of relaxation, which was necessary for the afternoon event. We went to the Robinson Fields (which cover over 4,000 acres) and rode on ATVs for 3 1/2 hours. It was a lot of fun, but it was kinda scary for me when I first started, but Joe seemed to have no problem. Once I got the hang of it and we started going faster, it was quite a rush. We stopped halfway through to stop at the river and have some snacks. The way back was really dusty, but we had lots of gear on.

Once we got back to the hotel, we cleaned up and went to Gaylords. It was quite the fine dining experience, and very romantic. Joe had the best Caesar salad of his life, and I had the best Cheesecake (Marscipone cheese with Macadamia nut crust). We also split Filet Mignon and I had the baked Brie. Overall, it was quite a dinner and a great end to a fun day.

P.S. We posted some photos of our trek.

Coastal Bridal Shower

The weekend before last was my very lovely coastal bridal shower hosted by my bridesmaids. It was a tea party where everyone was supposed to wear hats. It was very fun and I got to say several times, “My, what a lovely hat.” Everyone looked so beautiful and the weather was perfect with blue skies and a slight breeze, and the gorgeous view of the ocean behind us. We played lots of great games, including my favorite, Toilet Paper Wedding Dress. Thank you everyone that came for making it such a nice time, and for the great gifts.

P.S. Photos are posted from the shower so you can see them.

Northern Bridal Shower

Last Saturday was my Bridal Shower up north. It was hosted by all of my aunts (Joan, Lori, Darlene, and Suzie) and was very nice. There was wonderful food, and everything was color coordinated with the wedding colors (blue and silver).

Everyone there was either family or family friends, and it was so nice to see everyone, especially the people I haven’t seen for a long time. They gave us so many wonderful gifts, most of them were for the kitchen which is so great because I’ve missed getting to cook. Thanks so much for everyone that came, it was really special that you came.

P.S. I’ve posted some photos from the day in the photos section.
