Back From Florida
Joe and I just got back from a fun week in Florida with his family to visit his grandparents who live there. We were in Clearwater which is just outside of Tampa. It was very beautiful there, and his grandparents put us in a hotel that was literally on the beach next to the Gulf Coast.
The weather was a bit stormy so we didn’t go outside very much, but we went to a bunch of museums. My favorite museum was probably the Museum of Science and Industry, where we picked up a large fossil rock formation that is a bit modern in how it was cut (I will post a photo soon). We also went to the Salvador Dali museum (wouldn’t recommend), and the Museum of Fine Arts where my favorite parts were some of the modern paintings, the glass sculptures, and an Ansel Adams display (his technique is simply amazing).
Other than museums we watched two fun movies at home (Bee Movie and Happy Feet), went to some fabulous restaurants, and Joe and I watched a whole lot of HGTV – which is what we do whenever we are around cable.
All in all it was a relaxing getaway with family.
P.S. Joe and I also celebrated our second year of marriage!
That is so fun and relaxing sounding! Now you will have to come over again and tell us all about it:)
Thanks! We would love to hang out with you guys sometime soon!
Congratulations! Glad you had a good time.
I’m glad you had a fun time… isn’t there supposed to be a low level hurricane or something in Florida? That may account for the stormy weather. I liked the idea behind Bee Movie. Just because you want to be an individual doesn’t mean everyone does. Some people like Boring. I’m going to call you right now.
Thanks for posting!
Florida had Tropical Storm Fay, which never made it into Hurricane status, and we were in the part of Florida that was on the outskirts of the storm.
Jonathan – Joe really enjoyed getting to talk with you tonight! I liked the teachings behind the Bee Movie, but I liked it more for the we are all parts of the body concept.
